Quote for the day:
You need to trust even when you don’t understand.
Pastor Mark Benson
It doesn't seem overly profound, but it struck me last night as I sat in our Wednesday night service. To be sure, my pastor was talking about God, but I think it can also be applied to certain people (not everyone, for sure).
It's hard to trust, even God, when I don't understand what's going on around me. My childhood was turbulent and sometimes those doubts and fears will rise up when I least expect them and I struggle to put the past in its place--behind me.
Blessings,
Ginger
Spot on, Ginger! I've been studying trust, too. In fact, since I've began writing in a serious way, I've had to step on that invisible bridge of faith often :)
ReplyDeleteI have to keep 'indoctrinate' myself with the Truth to be able to trust.
ReplyDeleteTrust is such a hard thing. I think it's because we are taught through bad experiences that trusting brings pain.
ReplyDeleteIt takes 'indoctrinating' ourselves with HIS truth to learn to trust HIM.
So true. I have found myself praying about something... then worrying. Not a sign of trust at all. I believe God has challenged my heart to pray and trust, as this year has gone on. Because praying and worrying don't go together. Thanks for the encouragement. Trust has been an ever-present lesson for me this year. Glad to meditate on it again, here.
